With gently rolling hills, a rich forest, and sparkling water, Moraine State Park offers a breathtaking view and atmosphere along every step. The Disc Golf course allows for each of these views to be experienced along the way. The course has been a haven for athletes since its opening in 2005; and, its importance to the community has only skyrocketed from there. This par-66 championship-level course has hosted several prestigious tournaments on its three sets of tees including the 2021 Pittsburgh Flying Disc, an international event facilitated by the Professional Disc Golf Association, and the 2023 Night Owl Hoopla, a night round led by the Pittsburgh Flying Disc.

Flex start 9 am tee off. Every card of 4 will tee off every 15 minutes. The Event Coordinator will establish foursomes and tee times. Players will be given their start times at check-in. Players must use PDGA-approved Discs which will be checked prior to starting their round. Players will receive a general description of the course rules and a map of the course on the day of the tournament.

Disc golf is played much like golf. Instead of a ball and clubs, though, players use a flying disc or Frisbee®. The sport was formalized in the 1970s and shares with golf the object of completing each hole in the fewest strokes (or, in the case of disc golf, the fewest throws).

A golf disc is thrown from a tee area to a target, which is the “hole.” The hole can be one of a number of disc golf targets; the most common is an elevated metal basket. As a player progresses down the fairway, he or she must make each consecutive throw from the spot where the previous throw landed. The trees, shrubs, and terrain changes located in and around the fairways provide challenging obstacles for the golfer. Finally, the “putt” lands in the basket and the hole is completed.
