Bocce 4x

July 17, 2024

DATE: Wednesday, July 17, 2024
TIME: 4:00 PM

Heads or tails? A coin toss will determine your team’s fate. If you win, you secure the pallina and your choice of color; but if you lose, you still win the best field of play in Butler County. With more than 400 acres of recreational space, 12 shelters, and a massive playground that welcomes thousands of visitors each year, Alameda Park is the “advantage” your bocce team of four is looking for!

A coin toss will determine which team has the pallina and the choice of ball color. The team that wins the coin toss will begin play by tossing the pallina within the playing area. The team tossing the pallina (T-1) must deliver the first bocce ball to establish the “in” ball for the point. The opposing team (T-2) will then deliver bocce balls until the point is taken when T2 places a bocce ball closer to the pallina than the T-1 bocce ball or until T-2 has exhausted its four balls. This “nearest ball” rule governs the sequence of played balls. Each game will be to the max of 11 points or half hour.

NOTE: Entries for this event are closed 24 hrs. prior to the start of the competition.
