Ahead of the July 2024 games, Chairman and CEO Sheriff Slupe spoke on the development of the week-long event and what it means for Butler County as a whole. Slupe was interviewed by Butler Buzz host Tricia Pritchard in a YouTube video that is available here.
Speaking on the world-wide appeal of the event, Slupe said in the interview “We have somewhere between 10-12 different countries that have come through our Butler Can-Am 2024 website and they’re asking about registration and ready to come.” These inquiries include messages from potential game participants in France, Puerto Rico, and the Philippines.
Slupe also reinforced that the games welcome spouses, partners, and children of first responders, to join them, whether by participating or cheering from the sidelines.
Additionally, the interview highlights some of the venues across the county hosting events. This includes Slippery Rock University, Moraine State Park, Butler City Hunting and Fishing Club, Oneida Bow Hunters, and Butler County Community College.
